2020 Auction Gala in May has been cancelled.

Since our temporary closure on March 13, 2020, we have worked to determine how to proceed with our 2020 Auction Gala, which as you may know, is the Museum & Theatre's largest fundraising event of the year. However, in the face of the global COVID-19 pandemic, our Special Events Advisory Committee and Board of Directors have made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Auction Gala. We initially explored the option of shifting our event online on the same date. However, given the heavy economic burden on Maine businesses and the stress on Maine households, we have decided against holding even a virtual auction event in May.

This decision did not come lightly - our 2020 Auction Gala represents a large portion of the Museum & Theatre’s annual budget and we rely on those critical funds to support our educational programming, exhibits, theatrical productions, access initiatives, and more.

We are now focusing all of our attention on continuing to serve our community through free online programming. With so many children and families learning from home, the need for resources and support is greater than ever. Our community's response to these programs has been incredible. In less than two weeks, we have reached over 17,000 children and families from Biddeford to Presque Isle, and across the country and even the world!

We hope to be able to gather together in the not-to-distant future, but in the meantime, we hope you will check out our online programming and all the work we’ve been doing during our closure. We live stream at least once a day on Facebook. Click here for the full listing of our programs.
